Build an ATS-Friendly Resume With AI

Most ATS checkers hand you a number and no way to interrogate it. ORQILO measures seven properties of your resume directly, weights them, and shows you which one cost you what.

01

What ATS Analysis Is

ATS Analysis reads the text of your resume and reports how well it is built for the systems and people that screen it. It runs inside Resume Studio, so the score sits next to the document it describes and updates as you edit.

The important property is that it is deterministic. The same resume scores the same every time, because nothing is being asked for an opinion.

02

The Seven Checks

Seven properties are measured and combined into a weighted mean. The weights are not decoration — they are the actual values used in the calculation, and they say what ORQILO thinks matters most.

Weighting, as implemented

Real weights

Section completeness

×1.5

Are the sections a reader expects actually present?

Quantified impact

×1.5

Do your bullets carry numbers, or only responsibilities?

Action verbs

×1.2

Do lines open with something you did?

Active voice

×1.0

Passive constructions distance you from your own work.

Readability

×1.0

Measured line by line, because resumes are lists, not prose.

Length

×1.0

Long enough to be credible, short enough to be read.

Vocabulary variety

×0.8

The same verb eight times reads as one achievement.

Bars show each check’s weight in the overall score — not a result. Your figures depend entirely on your own resume.

Section completeness and quantified impact carry the most weight, because those two are what most often separate a resume that advances from one that does not.

An eighth check, when it is available

Grammar is added as an extra dimension when the grammar service responds. When it does not, the dimension is left out rather than estimated — a missing check is honest, an invented one is not.

03

Measured, Not Guessed

No language model produces this score. Each dimension is computed from properties of the text: which sections exist, how many bullets contain numbers, how lines begin, how often passive constructions appear, how readable the writing is, how long the document runs, and how much the vocabulary repeats.

That matters for a practical reason. A generated score cannot be appealed — you cannot ask a model why it said 68. A measured score can be traced to the check that produced it, and the check tells you what to change.

Tuned for resumes, not essays

Readability is measured line by line rather than sentence by sentence. Splitting only on full stops treats an entire bullet list as one enormous sentence: a 92-word sample scored 2 out of 100 for reading ease — text that reads perfectly well, marked nearly unreadable. Resumes are lists, and the measurement follows the format.

04

No Resume, No Score

If there is not enough text to analyse, ORQILO returns nothing rather than a number. Below roughly a paragraph of content, there is no score at all — not zero.

Zero means “your resume scored badly”. Nothing means “we have not measured your resume”. Those are different statements, and showing the first when the second is true is how a product ends up lying politely.

This runs through the whole platform: where something cannot be measured, ORQILO shows an empty state with a next step instead of a plausible default.

05

What It Will Not Do

Being useful means being clear about what a score is worth.

  • It does not predict whether a specific employer’s system will accept your resume — every ATS is configured differently.
  • It does not guarantee interviews, shortlisting or offers.
  • It does not raise your score without changing your resume.
  • It does not judge whether your experience is right for a role — that is what Career Pivot and Qilo are for.

There was once a one-click “auto fix” here. It added twenty points and changed nothing in the document. It was removed, and nothing has replaced it, because a score that moves while the resume stands still is not measuring anything.

Implementation note — legal review required: ATS Analysis is informational. It describes how your resume is constructed, not how any particular employer will respond to it — see the Terms & Conditions.

HOW THE SCORE BEHAVES

Deterministic: the same resume always produces the same figure. Edit a section and re-run it, and any movement is attributable to what you changed.

Every point traces to one of the seven checks, so the score is a to-do list rather than a verdict.
